The Hong Kong Mediation Council (HKMC) intends to host a series of webinars entitled "Mediation Insight Series" in order to update the knowledge of mediators and hone their practical skills. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the seminars will not be held physically but conducted online via ZOOM. This is the Eighth seminar which will highlight the PRC mediation, in particular, the experience sharing by the speaker on PRC mediation cases. It is expected to last 60 mins (including a Q&A session of 15mins) without a break.
Topics to be covered or shared by speakers include:
- How the speaker became an appointed mediator of a mainland court. Subsequent appointments. Appointment certificates.
- Experience sharing on how mediation appointments are made and comparing them between two courts, namely the Dongguan Peoples' Court No. 2 and the Qianhai Cooperative Zone Court.
- The mediation process.
- Drafting settlement agreements.
- Evaluations after the mediation; and
- Remuneration and rewards received.
This Webinar will run in Cantonese from 12:30pm to 01:45pm on 30 March 2021 (Tuesday), and targets General Mediators and Legal Practitioners including In-House Counsel.
In order to ensure that participants meet CPD requirements, the lunchtime webinar includes a quiz at the end on the content of the talk.
