HKMC International Mediator Series Part 3: Former Goldman Sachs Director of Litigation Overseeing Global Group Discusses Mediation Perspectives through the Lens of a Client and Mediator
As the former Managing Director, Director of Litigation & Regulatory Proceedings of Goldman Sachs, Norman brings a dual perspective to mediation. During his 26-year tenure at Goldman Sachs managing a global group overseeing litigation and regulatory proceedings, including strategy, mediation/settlement, and management of outside counsel, Norman oversaw hundreds of securities and commercial mediations as a client and provided a broad range of mediation services over the past five years. Norman will share his observations on what a client seeks in an effective mediator and how, with the benefit of his prior client background, he tailors mediations to enhance efficiency and the potential for resolution.

Goldman Sachs, Former Global Head of Litigation and Regulatory Proceedings
Norman recently retired as global head of litigation and regulatory proceedings at the Goldman Sachs organization after a 26-year career at the firm. He previously spent a decade practicing litigation with Sullivan & Cromwell after a clerkship with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. He now provides consulting and advisory services, including as a neutral, at Feit Services LLC, and regularly teaches an upper class seminar at Fordham University School of Law on commercial litigation drafting and mediation. Mr. Feit serves on numerous court and industry mediation panels, as well as the arbitrator rosters of the AAA (Commercial and Consumer), FINRA, and CPR International Institute’s Banking Accounting and Financial Services, E- Discovery, General Counsel, Pro Bono and NYC ADR Panels of Distinguished Neutrals. He participates in training programs for aspiring mediators and arbitrators, and is a frequent author on the topics of mediation and arbitration.

Christopher will be the Moderator of this webinar.
Recognised by the International Who’s Who Legal as a Thought Leader in mediation and arbitration, Christopher has mediated more than 700 cases over three decades and sits on 40 ADR panels globally. As Programme Director, he teaches and designs the program for Master of Laws in Arbitration and Dispute Resolution at City University of Hong Kong. Christopher has also authored 14 books on dispute resolution by publishers such as Wolters Kluwer Law & Business, Butterworths, and LexisNexis. In addition, Christopher serves as Chairman of the Mediation Accreditation Committee at Hong Kong Mediation Accreditation Association Limited and contributes to the drafting of the model text on dispute resolution at the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law.
