The Honourable Mr. Justice Harris was appointed a Judge of the Court of First Instance in 2009 and over the past 15 years he has been responsible for some of the most influential corporate, commercial and insolvency decisions emanating from the High Court. These include the now extremely well known judgment in Re Southwest Pacific Bauxite (HK) Ltd [2018] 2 HKLRD 449, i.e. the Lasmos case, addressing the interplay between arbitration and the insolvency regime, and Re Z-Obee Ltd [2018] 1 HKLRD 165 which considered the role of provisional liquidators in a corporate restructure. Mr. Justice Harris has also just been reappointed, for a second term, as President of the Competition Tribunal.
If your practice takes you into the companies court, you should attend this event.
