HK45 is delighted to announce our next Fireside Chat with the Honourable Mr. Justice Robert Tang.
Mr. Justice Tang was formerly a Permanent Judge at the Hong Kong Court of Final Appeal until his retirement in 2018. Upon his retirement, he was appointed as a Non-Permanent Judge of the Hong Kong Court of Final Appeal. Mr. Justice Tang is a Council member of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre, the Chairman of the Standing Commission on Legal Education and Training, a trustee of the S.K. Yee Medical Foundation as well as a member of the International Advisory Board.

Mr Justice Robert C. Tang
Robert Tang was called to the English Bar at Gray’s Inn in 1969 and to the Hong Kong Bar in 1970. He was appointed a Queen’s Counsel in 1986. He was Chairman of the Hong Kong Bar Association from 1988 to 1990 and became a Senior Counsel in 1997. He was appointed as a Judge of the Court of First Instance in April 2004, a Justice of Appeal in January 2005, a Vice President of the Court of Appeal in November 2006 and a Non-Permanent Hong Kong Judge of the Court of Final Appeal in September 2010 and a Permanent Judge of the Court of Final Appeal from October 2012 until his retirement on 24 October 2018. Upon his retirement, he was appointed as a Non-Permanent Hong Kong Judge of the Court of Final Appeal on 25 October 2018.
Robert Tang is the Chairman of the Standing Commission on Legal Education and Training, a trustee of the S.K. Yee Medical Foundation, a member of the International Advisory Board as well as a Council member of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre. He is also on the Panel of Arbitrators of CIETAC, a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators in England and also a CEDR Accredited Mediator.
