Yuxian specializes in handling commercial dispute resolution cases concerning VC/PE investment and financing, mergers and acquisitions, licensing, pharmaceuticals, production and supply of industrial materials, complex machinery and equipment, etc. In terms of arbitration, Yuxian has represented clients in disputes subject to arbitration under the rules of the HKIAC, ICC, CIETAC, SHIAC, SCIA, BAC, SAC, and UNCITRAL.
Xin has over 15 years of practice experience and has acted in a wide range of complex and high-value cross-border disputes involving governments, state-owned enterprises, and multinational corporations. These matters include arbitration under the HKIAC, SIAC, ICC, CIETAC, ICSID, and SHIAC Rules, as well as ad hoc arbitrations under the UNCITRAL Rules. Xin is triple-qualified in New York, the PRC (non-practicing), and Hong Kong. He worked in Freshfields' Hong Kong and New York offices for 11 years before relocating to the Mainland, and prior to joining the firm, he worked for four years with a leading Chinese law firm in Beijing and the World Bank in Washington D.C. Xin received his LL.M. from Harvard Law School, his M.A. in International Law and B.A. in Law from Renmin University of China, and has also studied law in Finland and Hong Kong as an exchange student.
Melody focuses her practice on complex disputes and investigations, often in a cross-border context. Melody has acted as lead counsel in a wide-variety of arbitration matter, both in China, and, in Asia more generally - from disputes over failed joint ventures to those concerning financial instruments, real estate transactions, project financing, insurance, and trade mark licensing.
She is also an established industry leader in various areas of PRC law, including those related to employee misconduct, fraud, trade secret infringement, and data privacy. In addition to her work on behalf of clients before Chinese courts and government agencies, she has been appointed as an expert witness for numerous foreign proceedings (e.g., the U.S., Hong Kong and Singapore) involving Chinese law issues.
Qishi has long been engaged in civil and commercial dispute resolution, and particularly specializes in foreign-related business. In particular, she focuses on the dispute resolution cases regarding the disputes over international trade and trade financing, equity investment and financing, joint venture contracts, technical cooperation, technical secrets and other intellectual properties, and also bankruptcy and reorganization cases. Qishi has rich and extensive experience in the litigation tried and heard in courts at all levels ranging from the primary-, the intermediate-, and high-level courts to the Supreme People’s Court, and also the arbitration in domestic arbitration institutions.
