This Workshop is organised by Hong Kong Mediation Council Limited ("HKMCL") - a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre.

A Mediation Coach in a training course plays a crucial role in supervising the mediation role-play exercises and provide objective feedback to trainees on their mediation skills, communication techniques and other strengths and weaknesses.

At this Workshop, experienced trainers from HKMCL will train and guide participants in becoming an effective Mediation Coach for accredited training courses under the HKMAAL accreditation system. They will share further tips on providing feedback to trainees and identifying barriers in role-play exercises.

Other information

Upon completion of the Workshop, participants having satisfied the HKMAAL Requirements for becoming a Mediation Coach*, would have a priority to be recruited by HKMCL to perform as a Mediation Coach in upcoming training courses delivered by HKMCL. The roleplay sessions of the next HKMCL training course are tentatively scheduled for 11, 12 and 26 May 2024.

(*HKMAAL Requirements for Coaches:

1. Having conducted 5 mediation cases, or 50-hours of mediation, as the sole-mediator within 3 years PRIOR to the date of becoming Coach; and
2. Maintaining a current HKMAAL Panel Membership.)
